Jimmy Davis State Park

The drive south was uneventful, and thats a good thing.  4 1/2 hours of mostly uncongested highway.  We arrived in time to get set up and prep for other family members to arrive.  Unfortunately the Wi-Fi Signal was great, but NO internet and the cell signal was abismal. Lynn's Sister-in-law arrived 15 minutes before us and her Neice arrived about a half hour after we got setup. The park was nice but it was fall break for the locals and the park was celebrating Halloween for the kids.  It was a full campground and 90% of the campers had kids.

I got this shot just about sundown.  About a half hour later, The Park was showing Disney's Hocus Pocus on an inflatable screen complete with surround sound just two campsites down from us.  I will say the weather was nice, low 60's and mid 80's for the weekend.  The kids all had a lot of fun all weekend. Saturday one of the campers loaded up a Home-made Kiddy Train and drove the kids around the campground loop for hours.

Saturday afternoon the Park had a Halloween Parade complete with Fire Engine, floats, and plenty of sugary treats.  Saturday night the kids all went trick-or-treating around the park.  Yes, most of the campsites were all decorated for halloween.  It wasn't till just now I even gave it a thought to have taken a few pictures of it.

Sunday morning was beautiful so I walked down to the waters edge and got this shot.  As most of the campers were now packing up and headed home it almost made me wish we could stay another night.  Later I would wish so even more.  Because of the lack of internet, I was unable to make my blog entries and I was getting calls and texts from customers I couldn't answer.  Concerned, after we got back on the road we started researching and found a lot of reviews commenting about no cell signal at our next campground.  We started looking for other campgrounds in the area with Wi-Fi and booked a different campground.

Next Stop, Lake Hamilton, Hot Springs, AR   Cheers!
